Studs for upper control arms
Ok someone please point me in the right direction here, the studs in my front crossmember that hold the upper control arms are jacked up for some reason. I thought I read how to replace them somewhere on here but can't find it. Where do you buy them? How do you replace them? Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Studs for upper control arms
All you have to do is unbolt your upper arm and just knock the stud out with a hammer. You can get new ones from outback (Here in Spring) or order them from LMC.

Re: Studs for upper control arms
When I took mine out a hammer wouldn't even budge them. I used a ball-joint separator tool and an impact wrench to press them out. It's been awhile since I took them out, but seems like I had to make plate or something to rig up the tool to make it work.
I bought a cheap one from Harbor Freight. You can usually get it on sale for around $30. Plus then you have something for your lower ball joints. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=38335 I bought the studs from ECE. They aren't online or in the catalog, but if you call them up they have them. The box they came in are GM and have a part number 6263840.

Re: Studs for upper control arms
The ones from LMC do not fit. I got mine from the Chevy dealership.

Re: Studs for upper control arms
Heat. Warm them up with a torch, then knock'em out.
