Hello, Central Jersey here
Just joined and wanted to say hi. I am in Central Jersey, near Raceway park in Englishtown. I have always been a Chevy car guy but think it is time for a truck since I can't get in and out of low slung cars like I used to. I have not gotten a truck yet but will be looking with a target for purchase in December '09 or January '10. I believe I will go for the 67-72 pickup (but not averse to earlier) and want one with a few items: 8 cylinder, factory air. ps/pb (front disk I hope) and fairly sound body.
In the meantime I have some questions; 1- What changes between the 67-72 models and the 73-75 models? 2- Does anyone know of good sites or places where I should start looking? 3- Why in the for sale do people feel the need to comment on why they can't buy the truck? Mark |

to the board from Mid-MO!!!
You'll find this place to become your second home. Mark, to try and answer your questions above; 1. I believe you can swap the entire front end of a 73-87 truck into the 67-72 to attain disc brakes,... and cheaper replacement parts as well. 2. As far as looking for a good project, look no further than the Trucks For Sale part of the board. You will see projects to full on rebuilt trucks for sale in this section. 3. To each their own... some people want to keep the sale "alive" so to speak, and want to relate to the owner that they hope the sale goes quickly. All in all, the board is a great place to gather information, parts, friends, and everything else in between. You probably think I sound crazy, but I've been privileged to meet several members and all have been stand up people. Best of luck on locating a project!
