Radiator Hose Selection

hey guys, im wondering if anybody can give me a specific part # for the radiator hoses that i would need.

i have a 66 chevy c-10 that i just put a 350 in and am hoping to fire it up within a day or so. i just need the radiator hoses that go from the engine to the radiator. i have the goodguys show to go to in a little more than a week so it needs to be ready by then. any help is appreciated, and i may have more questions. i will try to post pics when i start a build thread.

Are you using a stock radiator? If so you can just use the stock lower for the 283 or 327 for 66. As for the upper. I believe I used one for a mid 70's truck. I think I even trimmed it a bit but it works.

are you running a stock radiator too? does it cool the engine ok? im a little skeptical about how its going to work.

i forgot to mention that i am using the factory radiator for now. hopefully upgrading when my money tree blooms again.

I have not driven the truck for a few years now. I changed to a BBC and an aluminum radiator. It should cool just fine. I never got my temp gauge dialed in right but it seemed to be fine. I also used an electric fan which wasn't so great. Had a terrible sensor for turning it on and off. You should have a problem as long as the radiator is free and clear. I did have a new one.

My friend does a bunch of custom installs and upgrades. He bends a wire in the rough shape that is needed for the hose and takes it to the parts store. They let him look at the hoses and find one that is close to the shape he bent. Just a suggestion.....something to try.

i will remember that if i end up with a wrong hose at the end of the day.

If you're using the original style thermostat housing as Chevy Fleetside is then you can use Car Quest #20607 for the upper hose. If you're using the newer angled thermostat housing try one for a '69-'72 truck. One for a '68 Camaro will work too.....might have to trim it some.
