Don't faint, I can get around $1000 for a nice rust-free/straight LWB fleetside bed here in New England. I would suspect in your area the price is 1/3 to 1/4 that.

$1000?! wth? Here they'd laugh at you. You *might* be able to get $500. Junk yard guy back home (GA) says that if he ever gets a complete 67-72 bed in good shape, he'll sell it to me for $250 assuming a good tailgate, if no tailgate then the price goes down.

Supply and demand. Rustbelt = no supply. I just cut up a bed today that was beyond help, you might have not recognized it as a 67-72 bed. I get my rust-free beds from AZ. My cost plus shipping plus (you guessed it) profit = $1000. Sold many of these so far. If you factor in the patch panels plus shipping plus labor (last I check bodywork wasn't cheap), it's advantageous to get a rust-free bed in my area.
Haul a $250 GA bed to NE and sell it then look at the ride back. $1000 won't hardly cover your expenses. Again, it's a regional thing. If one truck enthusiest can get it for $250, cool. If I can supply it for $1000 vs twice that to cob something together, even cooler. If you noticed, my comment was a LWB bed in his area should be $250-$400 range as I am aware of supply and demand drives the market. No, I don't think I'm ripping anybody off. (Jerry Moss faints at this point (We've had many discussion on LWB fleetside beds -lol)). ------------------ Jeff Jesseman Cheyenne Parts Northeast Franconia, NH 67 Chevy SWB Fleetside 70 GMC Burb 1/2 ton 2wd 72 Chevy Burb 3/4 ton 4x4 Parts bought and sold [This message has been edited by CPNE (edited May 18, 2002).]

I'm in Texas and I have a hard time buying lwb trucks that the bed hasn't went through hell on the farm. Cabs usually get rust from mud on boots get in floor and hold water etc. doors usually were home to 6x9's
fenders have hit everthing trying to Tequilla drinking owner home. I see $1000. for a very very nice bed being reasonable but I don't have no fear of bondo either.

I just purchased a very nice rust-free long box with an OK tailgate for $350. I was also given a 69 C20(no engine or tranny) that just happened to have a rust-free 67 longbox on it. I am still all on that one.
Most boxes for sale in MN are usually in the $650 range without tailgates and they could even have aux gas tank holes cut in the sides for that. ------------------ 1971 C-10 Suburban 1972 C-10 Suburban 1969 XL Galaxie Fastback 1968 Galaxie 500 Fastback 1974 SCOUT II Montrose, Minnesota

I have been watching long bed prices go up. Like CPNE, long beds here are going for good money, over $1000.00 for some here. I have one here I am keeping for myself that I turned down $1000.00 for from "Manes truck parts" just the other day. Hard to find the really good ones.
