CARB Question (MonoJet L6)
I have a carb that is a two piece, the top half is loose? Seems like an easy fix. I told my dad to tighten up the phillips head screws that hold it down to the bottom half. And while he was at it if he would check the filter that is right inside the carb behind the fuel "IN" line i would appreciate it since the tank was so full of rust. Well he calls me back to tell me that the carb had been "JERRY RIGED" before and the the nut holdin the in-line was striped and they (PO) has a rubber washer and no filter. So now what do i do? Can i take it some where and have them rebuild it or can i order a reman unit? Here are a few pics of it. I am having mom take some more pics so i can see what it is he is talking about. *Man it stinks not to have the truck sitting here for me to mess with.
Thanks

Re: CARB Question (MonoJet L6)
Most people take the fuel filter out of the carb inlet and install an in-line fuel filter.
LMC carries rebuilt MonoJets, but I have heard they are pretty easy to rebuild. I am sure some board vendors carry them also, but I don't know who. Some one on here may have one laying around they don't need. Do a search in the parts for sale section. Danny

Re: CARB Question (MonoJet L6)
Sometimes the top part of those carbs gets warped and no amount of re-tightening the screws would help. I would take it apart and make sure both surfaces are flat. IT should be an easy rebuild if those two pieces mate together.

Re: CARB Question (MonoJet L6)
Okay so i went down to pickup my son and stoped by to take a look at the carb issue my dad was telling me about. Look at the photos below and see if these looks right. The fuel inlet pipe...... is held in place by tightening up the nut which force the black rubber thing to swell. Is this right? Nothing is stripped like i was told initialy.

That looks like a"Help" or non-stock fix.If the threads in the hole are good you should be able to get a new nut from a Speed shop or old time Auto parts store(You will need "parts man" cause "Parts Boy" will not know what you are talking about.I had the same leak and the local speed shop fixed me right up.

Re: CARB Question (MonoJet L6)
Hey PD! thanks, i am trying to find one of those old part place but most are no longer in business. Still waiting on that "Call" for the low low price for the reman. I may troll the for sale board and see if i can pickup one. I have been using Car-part.com and have located some used ones but most will not ship.
