350-Turbo350 kickdown cable
Hi all, again I'll state that I'm new to the Chevy world thus I don't have any knowledge of how to properly hook up and adjust my kick-down cable to the throttle linkage.
I have a newer crate motor with a Edelbrock 1406 and a Turbo 350. I bought the vehicle from the second owner after the rebuild and when I got it the cable was not attached to anything. What I can see is a loop end that could attach with a bolt to the throttle linkage and an elongated plastic loop near the end of the housing that obviously attaches to some kind of bracket that would adjust for correct tension at WOT. Does anyone have any pictures that could help me figure out what brackets are missing? thanks for any advise-help getting my tranny shifting! Last edited by RED 1970; 07-22-2009 at 06:41 PM. |

Re: 350-Turbo350 kickdown cable
Aftermarket version of stock small block kickdown cable bracket
The cable will attach to a stud similar to the one shown on the far right in this pic Your carb may not have that stud so you'll have to locate one

Re: 350-Turbo350 kickdown cable
Lokar makes several versions of a kickdown or "detent" cable and bracket set up. They even have an economy version that uses an OEM black cable with their own shiny bracket. You can find many types of brackets from Mr. Gasket, Spectre, Holley, Edelbrock, etc. Some throttle cable brackets also come with a kickdown bracket attached to them underneath the throttle attachment. Brackets can be attached to the intake (oem style) or to the carb.
