Fan shroud
I have 72 blazer basket case has 396 when I got it motor was in but hitting fire wall so got some info off the board here moved cross members up 2 inchs everything is going together. But now what are the fan shroud options is there a shroud that will work or do get rid of stock fan go to electric fans?

Get a 2wd bb shroud. Sometimes used ones come up or you can buy a new one.

If you mean front to back (from radiator to firewall) yes, WAY shorter.

Scott (Turp Mcspray) is right on on that deal, 4x4 shroud is 9" deep and a 2wd shroud is about 5 1/4" deep.

On my truck I moved the engine forward 2" from the small block location and with a factory water pump,pulley,and clutch fan set up (borrowed from my buddys 2wd big block truck for mock up), the fan set perfectly in my shroud.
