67 gmc power steering

I have a 1967 GMC half ton with manual steering. I want to put power steering in the truck but i can't find a power steering gearbox for a 67. Will i be able to set my truck up like a 68-72 with P.S.? If so what parts will i need? I am installing an LS1 engine and plan to use the late model pump that comes with that engine.

68 to 87 gearbox will work perfect but you will either need to modify your frame for the bulge on the back of the power gear box or use a spacer , I just made some spacer's for mine ,

I have a 67 chevy with no indention in the frame and mounted up a 72 gear box with not shims or modification to my frame. I got this idea from another guy with a 67

I thought it was the left hand bumper bracket you had to notch out when you convert to a P/S box. Correct?

Re: 67 gmc power steering

We put a P/S system on a 67 and als did it without modification. I guess some frames were later 67 or early 68. The left bracket on the bumper has an indention to clear the box. It could be modified or someone may have a bracket to sell.

the spacer isn't a very good idea.
