headers?!?!?!?
i have a 71 with a 68 front clip. it has a 454 big block with hooker long tube headers. the headers are so long that they hang lower than the frame giving my a VERY low ground clearance. i would like to lower the truck at least 2-3 more inchs all around but if i do then the exhaust will drag the ground. my question is, is there a compareable header to a hooker (doesnt matter what brand) long tube that will tuck the exhaust up more so i can lower it? do i need to look at a different style (make, truck, maybe car, etc)? any advice would help a bunch. if you can please be specific with your answer. not 100% fluent in "car lengo" but im getting there.
thanks, jrod |

Re: headers?!?!?!?
You could possibly have an exhaust shop modify the headers???

Re: headers?!?!?!?
This is a common problem with long tube headers. Try a mid length header or one of the shorty block huggers that some of the fourm members have had good luck with. You can also always run exhaust manifolds. Sanderson also makes nice exhaust manifolds and headers that may fit well.
