Welcome aboard Joe! You will find this place to be like a black hole. It is a great place, with a ton a info and ides. But it is like a black hole in the fact that once you get in here, it is HARD to get back out. Enjoy it here, you will find some great stuff! Oh and when you buy stuff for your truck. Try to get it from the vendors on here if possible. There are a ton of them.

You'll have to replace your radiator support, grille, hdlamp bezels and wiring.
Here's a link to a members site that may help you. Look at the suburban front end update. It's a good writeup with pics that show the install. If you want to top/bottom lamps, the swap goes the same just different parts. Hope this helps.

Re: pics of my 82 short bed

The Boss 338's are being retooled and I am told that they will fit our truck properly once they complete this. Right now they don't even come close to fitting on the front without major modifications. I actually am going with the 18x8's and the 18x9.5" 338's on my '87. The rear looks great (except that I haven't lowered it yet...I'm working on it though), but I didn't even bring the front ones home as I took a new front rotor with me to test fit because of all that I had heard about these wheels not fitting.

I added a picture of my truck with the 9.5" on the rear. Remember it will be about 5.5" lower before I actually put these on the truck. The rears are living in the garage with the new front tires, patiently waiting for the reengineered fronts that should be available late Aug. or early Sept. We will see

I didn't go with 20" because I pull a 19' ski boat with the truck and don't want to increase the risk of damaging a tire due to the additional weight.

Re: pics of my 82 short bed

Hey Joe1982, how about snapping a picture of your truck from the side so I can get a better idea of how my truck will sit with the 3.5"/5.5" drop I have planned
