cheap brake booster ?

My 67 I,ve already converted to disk up front. It has a brake booster and master cylinder on it already but booster is bad. Any tips on a retro fit would be great I'd like to go to the pick your parts yard and find somethin to get one off of they got alot of chevs up there. Oh and if someone can tell me how to tell if a booster is good on a non runnin vehicle.

I fully understand saving a buck on parts but you shouldn't skimp on brake parts. Chances are if you find a used booster in the parts yard it's as old as yours and in about the same shape anyway. I am not aware of any newer year model boosters that directly interchange with these trucks either. That's not to say you can't make one fit with some work...

Re: cheap brake booster ?

Got mine off of a square body truck. Chopped off the top two tabs on the mounting area, drilled some new holes, and bolted her up. Works darn good too.

I'm interested in doing the same conversion on my '72 - does this require a different linkage from the pedal to the booster?

Thanks,

Todd
