Hood padding
Does the padding under the hood make a difference? (between the hood and frame of the hood)

Re: Hood padding
yes it does make a difference if you put any pressure on the hood w/o the padding it will pop down and up w/ the padding it absorbs the pressure so no buckling. I know this for a fact since half my hood is missing padding and anytime i put pressure on it (ie to sand) it buckles down were the padding is missing.

Re: Hood padding
My truck didn't have the padding when I got it. When driving down the road, the whole hood would oil-can up and down just from the wind or bumps.

Re: Hood padding
I am not sure that our years of trucks came with padding. I am sure you could add it, but it wasn't designed for it.
Yes, it helps. From a heat and noise point of view. It will help reduce both. D
