Bench Bleeding MC with Proportional Valve
I am finishing up the brake upgrade on my 67 C-10, it’s almost time to install my new MC with a proportional valve. (Installed discs on the front, replaced everything on the rear drum brakes, new brake lines/hoses, and the new MC/prop valve is next). When I bench bleed the new MC, do I remove the prop valve from the MC? The directions show just bench bleeding the MC alone, but they appear to be very general directions.

Re: Bench Bleeding MC with Proportional Valve
if I were doing your truck, I would bench bleed the master cylinder, as the last thing I did before installing it, and being ready to bleed the brakes. I would then open the rear brake bleeders and gravity bleed the rear brakes and the do the same to the front. Then get a friend to pump the brakes up and bleed again

Re: Bench Bleeding MC with Proportional Valve
Bench bleed the MC without the proportioning valve. Once it's installed you can bleed the entire system.
