Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
I've been looking to go back to stock side markers for a while. My "Deluxe" marker chrome strips have been glued, replaced, glued, replaced for the last time. I was checking out the sale at Brothers and noticed the van side markers. I'd read about them, but when I checked them out on ebay they were PRICEY... Anyway, the price was right with them on sale, so I went nuts and bought a couple of each. Super simple to install and look a lot better IMO than the "Deluxe" or the stock ones. They also had some "Euro" ones that I didn't like much because of the chrome outer ring. When it gets a little darker I'll grab some shots. The first two images are the ones I got. The links underneath are the sale page for each at Brothers. Be sure to buy the screw kit as well. They are a little smaller than stock and the kit comes with new keepers as well.
Amber Red Just for comparison here are the stock, deluxe and euros I'm sure each would look fine on the right truck, but I like the clean simple style of the van markers. They also fit the pockets really well. Later, Tony

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
Did you try silicone to stick em? It's more flexible than the glue and doesn't get brittle.

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
No, but the biggest problem with them is they stick out and snag folks clothes as they walk by.

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
You can mount the delux markers from the backside after a little bit of trimming on the metal. 10 min a light, looks totally bad ass, did it on both of my rigs, been meaning to get pics up.
The van markers as pictured above put out twice as much light as the stock ones do if that matters to you. |

I like those van markers! I'm usually Mr. bone stock, but I might give those a try!

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
Would these fit just like is shown on a 70 Blazer? Just wondering because I like the looks of them, but thought in previous posts that they were a little smaller in size than originals. Anyone have these on a Blazer or would the fit be exactly the same as the Burb? Thanks.

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
So did I.
I got side tracked with the new season of Two and a half Men, How I Met Your Mother, and The Big Bang Theory. I did manage to do the write up though... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...14#post3531114 |

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
I`ve had a trim piece come off of a lense once in who knows how many. But,the one piece van lenses do look clean for a different look.

I just find them plain and boring, but the ghetto-frenched are classy and clean.

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
If you gotta have 'em, and your State is one of those that does inspections and looks for them, then by all means you gotta keep 'em. As for Arkansas, there is no vehicle inspection so my markers are removed and the holes to be filled. Yeah, it ain't no '67, but it is mine and '67 was a good year in my memory bank.

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
Those trim rings will stay on if you use a hot glue gun or clear "Goop" brand glue.
Both don't show & do stay a little flexible. Too bad they can't just get them right in the first place. It is like the 68-70 GMC repop grills...after several years, they still paint the centers black. No one over there listens or cares. |

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
these will fit blazers the same as the burb and truck. The earlier year vans used both the same side markers as the 68 - 72 trucks... same P/N and everything.
Remember to take your small torx bits to the junk yard when shopping for the ones shown on my burb. Also, if your ride has nice paint and is all dolled up, shop around for some that aren't scratched up. Being as smooth as they are, the scratches show up real bad. |

Re: Tired of losing chrome off side markers?
For $13 a piece, I'd just go with the ones from Brothers. They are really nice and the stock bulb holder just presses in perfectly. 1 minute install per marker. Yes they fit the Blazer exactly like the pics above.
