Re: blazer project

I replaced the inner rockers, front floor supports, lower a pillars, rockers, and front quarter panels. I also had to fabricate lower b pillars and repair that rocker box tie in brace thingy.

Your build is very impressive! I like it.

What is going on in picture above though? I don't see your L supports?

I love your tip setup there - and totally want to use it, but needs some more explanation please...

Could you explain in short words (I'm slow today) what you mean about "blocks under the cross braces" - do you mean the cross braces at the door? So blocks between floor and door bracing?

Re: blazer project

still working on the blazer. I havent been good at keeping this up to date so i'll post up the few pictures i have taken.

I discover that inside the cowl area was more rotted that i originally thougt so i cut all the spot welds and did some repair. Also this water diversion channel was toast so i fabed up some new pieces and painted the whole thing while it was apart. I dont have any shots of it painted though(i tend to get working and forget pics)

Re: blazer project

after the cowl was finished id assembled everthing. I had to do some mods to the new femder on the drivers side it didnt match the curve of the door. also i had to enlarge the holes in the radiator support and the grill because the holes did not line up with the repop fenders.

Re: blazer project

What are you doing to prevent damage to the body panels when you tip the body on it's side to work on the undercarriage? Seems like a good way to get access if it doesn't do the body panels harm.

Good looking truck and good progress!

Re: blazer project

Wanderlusty: I got the idea from a pic i saw one here. Its so simple and works great its just 2 peices of box tubing welded in a "L" shape with some exhaust tubing welded to the top to even out the spacing between the dolly's and the tub. I used a cherry picker to tip it up and put a strap on top to make sure it didnt tip to fast once it got over the center of gravity. I'll try to remember to get better pics for ya but they are on the tub in this pic also you can see the nylon strap on the top.

I'm waiting for my firewall pad set to come in so i can install the wiring, heater/AC parts, parking brake pedal, dashpad, glove box, and gauges. I gotta remember to take pics of the exhaust that is done except for some turndowns.

Re: blazer project

I have been working on the blazer a lot lately. I took a bunch of pics the other day and i'm going to catch up the build thread over the next couple days.

here are some pics of the exhaust, what you can see of it at least.
I used the newer style hanger because i like the clean look.
