1971 Blazer 4X4 ???
I am going to look at a 71 Blazer 4X4 this weekend to buy. My question is, is there any thing different to look for in the Blazer than in the truck as far as rust or ??? and is there any parts that are very costly to repair or to buy more so than the trucks. And is there any thing that would just be the greatest thing to find in the Blazer and not just a bag with $1,000,000 under the seat. Thanks in advance for the info, ibjoker69.

Yup, there are a few things to look for.
The yare rusted out "rocker boxes" inboard of the inner rocker panels - these helb stop the body from sagging, especially when the roof is off, and, altough I don't know what exactly to look for, the windshield frame is prone to rusting out - these frames are hard to find and costly to replace.
Other than that, look in the typical places - i'e. the back corners and the very back portion of the bed. Good luck! |

Look where the hard top mounts on the windshield frame, look carefully at where the floor lays on top of the rear floor support, look at those inner rocker boxes, look at the firewall above the heater and the same spot on the drivers side, see if the doors are original--have additional support around the latches, then get out a magnet and check for bondo on the rear quarters above the wheel wells, the rocker panels, etc. The front clip is easily fixed/replaced but the body/cab/tub is not.
