Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
Do they call that a Chalet? I was thinking that was the option name...

Some people called them that anyway, Here is another post on them http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=3501443

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
Thats sweet! I always wanted a first generation blazer with a camper on it. I bet whoever buys that one tosses the old camper though.

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
4Wheel brand, Hallmark brand, and Sportsman brand are all strictly aftermarket.
Chalets and Casa Grandes were the GM factory ones, '76-'77 only, Travis "tvblazer78" put together a nice page about them over here. The can't-miss identifier for a Chalet or Casa Grande is the matching set of Blazer/Jimmy taillights.

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
It isn't technically a Chalet, because those were really a 3rd gen feature, but I've heard people call them a Chalet. There was just someone looking for one on the board.

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
That's how I see them too, except I guess I never really made a 5th gen, I just grouped 80-91 together.

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
The only reason i do that is because of the swap to tbi, it was a pretty big change!

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
Bouncy, what makes you say they were 3rd Gen? Was there a dealer option for it then?

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
I pretty much lump everything from 76 up as 3rd Gen since the body changes were so minimal.

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
As far as I know, the Chalet was only available 76+. I believe it was a factory option based on the brochures at http://brochures.slosh.com/

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
That looks like a cut down Blazer top. Note the black molding connecting it to the camper.

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
im a blazer nut and get more in depth than just 3 gens, 76-91 had big changes front clips, front axel change, motor config, trans changes, t-case changes, interior changes, thats a lot of changes so when you say 3rd gen you could be talking about a og 2wd 76 or a 91 tbi 4x4?? big diff

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
I have to go with Critter and AZK5 on this one! There are three generations of blazer at best. I guess the rest are seperating the 73-75 from the 76-80 because of the whole top vs. half top change? Other than that and maybe some minor stuff unnoticeable to the average person the 75 and 76 blazers are pretty much identical. I don't know to me that isn't enough. To me a generation change is an entire body style change. To me even the 73-80 and 81 and up are basically the same generation.

Re: 1969 Blazer - Portland Craigslist -
The whole top vs half top is a pretty big change.
I don't really know much about the 76+ so I get lazy and lump them into one generation. I'm sure there is a lot more than that though.

Every time I see a new post on this thread, I'm half expecting someone to post pictures of it sitting in front their house.
