Hello folks,
This is my first time here, so thanks for your time. My question for anyone that might know. Is there any difference between a 1/2 ton frame and a 3/4 ton frame between 79-87. I know almost all of the body panels are interchangeable, but I'm looking a just the frames. I was told the steel is thicker on the 3/4 ton. But then a few guys have told me theres no difference. Thanks again for your time |

Yes, as far as I know, the frames are the same. The one-ton (30) series has a thicker and taller frame.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the front of the frames change in 81? 73-80 the same, 81-87 the same. Front frame horns changed in 81 to accept a different style of bumper.
