my first 64!

this truck has been for sale since may...
from the cl ad:
327, 4 speed W/granny gear, 12 bolt positive rear end, Edlebrock chrome valve covers, Edelbrock intake Holley carb, New battery and cables-needs installed, new dipstick tube.

they started at $1500, and the price has been creeping down all summer..
I got it yesterday for $250.00! (chiefroca style)

Of course today it snowed and is about 15 degrees outside, so further inspection will wait a little bit, but here is what I got so far:

california truck with the pink slip, so almost no rust.
Lh front fender, core support, grille support, grille, bumper, and inner fenders all in great shape and not rusty.
It does have a v8, but it has a quadrajet carb and manifold (the performer, and holley are on the front seat), and 1 283 style valve cover, and 1 350 style valve cover, so I will have to run some #'s to see what it really is.
it is supposed to run, but sometime over the summer the starter got stolen(!!), along with the taillights btw!!, so it will take a little work to get going.
the interior has a nice 73-87 bench seat, and a one knob heater system-rare here in mt- ,a passenger side visor, but no driver
the box and gate are nice except on the driver side in front of the wheel has a telephone pole mark, probably the posi and some ice mixed with a little alcohol tha did that.
of course it is topped off with the ugliest wheels in the world, chrome plate wagon wheels! were they factory replacement equipment on these trucks?

I have no idea what I am going to do with this one, but it was just too good a deal to pass up.

heres the cl pics, I'll get some of my own up soon.

Re: my first 64!

For $150.00, you can't go wrong. Worst case scenario, it is worth twice that in scrape iron, if you had to unload it quickly. Good score.

Re: my first 64!

That's a great deal Jon

Let us know what the rest looks like when it warms up a little. No snow here yet, but it's supposed to be in the teens the next 3 nights....Brrrrrrrr! not ready for this yet.
