Rear view mirror option question.....
If I'm not mistaken, from 67-71 the rear view mirror was mounted to the cab and in 72 they were glued to the winshield. My 68 has the mirror glued to the windshield BUT doesn't have any holes where the factory mirror should have gone. So my question is why? Was it an option? Did they forget to add it at the factory? The interior has all original paint.......

Re: Rear view mirror option question.....
I had a 68 years ago (in fact it was my first one of this body style) and the mirror was glued on too with no holes on the roof. It was just like yours after all these years it still has me stumped. It was built in St. Louis, mabe they did things different there, huh? Now that I think about it the side marker lights weren't even punched out where the socket goes on two if them and the other two had sockets and bulbs but they weren't hooked to anything, just hanging out in space.

Re: Rear view mirror option question.....
it was an option till 1970
Many will have the mirror, but no mention on the SPID, when the buyer would go to pick it up, and discover there was nothing there, the salesman would send him to the parts counter where they'd be happy to sell one to you. |
