1969 Chevy C20 RARE FACTORY DUMP BED 27K MILE MUST SEE

This not my truck but knew someone on this website would get less sleep tonight after seeing this......

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-...item3ca66a99b5

Can anyone confirm or reject authenticity?

Re: 1969 Chevy C20 RARE FACTORY DUMP BED 27K MILE MUST SEE

I am not reading all that. Why do people type in all caps?? It makes it so hard to read. Enough rant.

That may be dealer installed, definitely NOT factory installed. IMO the dump bed doesn't make it "rare" in the least. It's just something that someone (maybe the dealer) added once the factory was done with it.

Rare bed question aside, it's a nice truck, and the price isn't that bad.

Re: 1969 Chevy C20 RARE FACTORY DUMP BED 27K MILE MUST SEE

Must admit I didn't read all the crap this fool thought was necessary to type, I'm more of a "lookin at the pictures" kind of guy.

Thought it was worth the price, give or take the dump bed.

Here in South Mississippi that sure would make dumping out the beer cans easier though.

There's a 70 on my local craigslist, but he doesn't claim that the dumpbed is factory original.

Purty freakin' cool. Lot of rot for a low mile truck. I don't doubt the mileage though.
Look at the drivers side cab corner. dang.

If it was about $1500 cheaper i would probably buy it.

"Dumpedness"... I like that! I'm going to use that at work as much as possible.

Because of the huge Chorizo breakfast burrito I just had, I need to go have myself some "dumpedness"...

Re: 1969 Chevy C20 RARE FACTORY DUMP BED 27K MILE MUST SEE

The last dump bed I saw the frame at the rear had been significantly modified. In the 50's and early 60's it wasn't uncommon to see a factory bed modded to dump for grain. It was not so common in the later 60"S as grain trucks got larger and 3/4 tons and single wheel one tons became too small for farming around here. A couple years ago a truck very close to that one with 28k on the clock but a Longhorn went for $12K. Too much money and I don't care how low the miles were. The frame was butchered and it was plain Jane with it's share of nicks and dings.

Re: 1969 Chevy C20 RARE FACTORY DUMP BED 27K MILE MUST SEE

He's a long-winded non car-guy. If you read down thru the mess of caps, he states that it has "two chokes"...one for the carburetor and the other works as a "speed control".
The truck has a PTO pump for the hydraulic dump, which he goes on to explain....but a "hand throttle" for the PTO is not a choke.

Re: 1969 Chevy C20 RARE FACTORY DUMP BED 27K MILE MUST SEE

I think he might be an almost car guy, that or a car guy pointed out some things. Stuff like original plug wires, shocks... stuff like that. The choke thing, 99% of guys under 30, even 50% or so of car guys under 30 don't know manual chokes, so i could see that mistake.
I still want to drive over there and stab him for that long winded bla bla bla description that was redundantly redundant.

Definate blabbermouth but a really cool truck though. Imagine the ease of hauling firewood, dirt, gravel, other people's junk they leave at you house.
