Question Wanted S/S Camper Mirrors

Does anyone know where I can get a nice set of these OEM Small tri-pod stainless steel camper mirrors. I have a set of painted steel ones, but would love to get a nice set in stainless.

Thanks,

Re: Wanted S/S Camper Mirrors

Try LMC or your local parts store.

I found mine at a garage sale.

Some people don't like them so they change to the sport style ones. So you might pick a pair up from a board memeber.

I have found that the ones you want work great for towing.

Yeah, LMC has some that are not OEM, and "May or may not" fit. I do tow and they're perfect.

I cannot say it loudly enough: DO NOT BUY THE PIECES OF CRAP THAT LMC OFFERS!! I went through 3 SETS OF THEM and never got a pair that wasn't messed up. The threaded inserts come loose just by tightening them up, leaving them wobbling around. Anything over about 30 MPH they are totally useless. The guy over there just said that they are aware of the problems with them, but don't have a replacement that isn't messed up.

RV/Towing places may carry them. I think they are called low-mount mirrors.

Thanks,
tncdrew... Glad to have you on board. I have two ideas that might be of help: Plan A) I believe you can go to the For Sale forum and watch to see if a set of mirrors come up for sell...Although you can't post a Want To Buy you can look for a set to pop up...Plan B) would become a site supporter for $25 and then you can post a WTB (Want to Buy) for any part that you might ever need for your truck. It would be the best investment that you can make on behalf of your truck as prices here are normally less than ebay plus the guys on here are 99.9% straight up. Ok...nobody is perfect. No matter what direction you go best of luck and again welcome.

Re: Wanted S/S Camper Mirrors

Those aren`t camper mirrors. They are known as Below Eyeline mirrors and were an option on 71/72s.They are only available used or maybe a rare N.O.S. piece.Mirrors were sold in parts through the parts dept,no complete mirrors. When looking, see that the lower arms are made from a single piece.Everything else is aftermarket. The top arm, chrome,is available through Napa.

Re: Wanted S/S Camper Mirrors

I have a set of factory camper mirrors but I think that the tripod may be a little larger than the one you have pictured. The mirrors I have came off of my '71 Chevy.
