1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
I picked up a 1970 Blazer that I thought was in a lot better shape than it was. It has rust by the drivers side kick panel and some on the bed by the tailgate. The rockers and the rocker boxes look to be in pretty good condition. I have not played with the Blazers before so I thought to ask here. I was going to take a few parts for my crew cab buildup and then???

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
dude... please do not kill that truck.
Sell it on line an dlet someone get it who does not have access to low amounts of rust. It boils down to do what ever the heck you want.... you own it. BUT... That thing is FAR from being junk. |

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
I found some money on the floor. I did not want to do another project, just wanted to get a nice driver.

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
I found some rust behind the passenger door that was covered up by the panels that the Po told me was there and was not fixed when it was painted. It was a A/C cab but is missing a lot of parts now.

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
The axles are from a 72 Blazer and I was told that the rear end is a posi. The front and rear fenders were cut to fit 38" tires but now has 35" tires.

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
Too saveable to part! I say either sell it and buy a better one to drive, or start the repair process. Either way, if you want a better blazer, it's gonna cost more money.

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
It's up to you. If you need parts from it for one of your builds then part it out. You could try to sell it as a whole tub and chassis once you take the parts you need first and if it doesn't work out then part it. It takes nice parts to restore other Blazers so it's not like it would be just killing another Blazer. And heck, I would be interested in the windshield frame if it is in good condition so I can have them reproduced. WES

Take that thing and play in the mud before you decide to keep it or sell it

I would take what I needed and sell the rest. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
Personally, you could probably sell it for what you bought it for if thats all you are taking off of it. However, if it doesn't sell, don't lower your price right away, part it because blazer parts usually go for some good money.

I got the Blazer at a good price, seeing as I had to tow it 160 miles. What do you think it would be worth?

Cleaned out the Blazer today to see how bad it really looks and it looked worse before I cleaned it.

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
Sell it whole, it's a lot more complete than most are buying nowadays. You should get your money back no sweat.

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
I agree it looks alot better cleaned out and the replacement panels are cheap it wouldnt take to much to seal it up and make it road worthy and have some fun ..I just got my sons k/5 back on the road again and I had forgot how much fun these short wheel base trucks are off road its been a long time it's like drivin a jeep compared to my sub...I say make her road worthy and have some fun...Just my two cents worth...

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
I would do some quick patch work and make it driveable, and drive it. Doesn't look bad at all (then again, I'm in NY and that's what our nice trucks look like!)

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
X2, a day of cutting and welding and that floor will look like new again. Patch panels are not hard to do. Fix the rust and drive it or sell it.

I agree. I bought the best one I could find locally and still isn't that nice.

Re: 1970 Blazer Part out or sell whole
Well I have spent some time on the Blazer and have got it running but it will need a new carb or rebuild the one on it. I want to drive it hopefully by the end of the week but will be selling it I am sure once my crew cab comes back home from paint. Too many trucks I was told from the boss but I just hate seeing them neglected.
