engine block ID#
is there some kinda id number stamped somewhere on the engine block? I'm trying to id the 350 in my 68. the engine ain't original to the truck so I was wanting to figure out what year the engine is.

There should be a casting number in the back where the trans bolts up. Below the head. Should also be a date casting below the other head. It is kind of hard to see but that is the spot. The date cast will look like f 17 8 for example.
