Gas filler in stake pocket

Anyone esle done the gas filler in the stake pocket?

I'm starting on mine now. Ive got part of the hole cut on the top and the tab a couple inches down knocked out. Cutting the bottom of the stake pocket out has not been fun, and this is with nothing removed from the truck. hack saw blade is all that i have used so far on the bottom.

anyone else done this without removing the rear crossmember?

I'm using a pop up gas cap from pro-one, it is supposed to be a vented cap, I hope this works.

IIRC john fabris (a member here) did a nice job on his a few years ago. he used a boat filler cap/spout deal that works great.

Re: Gas filler in stake pocket

Here's a link to John Fabris' stake pocket gas filler. He tells a little bit about how to..... and shows some great pictures. Good Luck. This will be a real nice mod to your truck.
