frame difference?
I have a 1972 chevy 4x4 frame that I am going to put under my 67. They are both LWB, the 1967 has a cross member between the rear cab mounts for the driveshaft carrier support bearing. The 1972 does not have this crossmember or any holes for it.
Did the 1972 LWB 4x4 use a one piece rear drivshaft? Could I just drill holes and move the crossmember over to the frame that I am going to use?

Re: frame difference?
But mine is a 4x4 with a fixed yoke at the transfer case and rear end. There is a slip joint near the center carrier bearing. How is a one piece drivshaft done in this situation?

Re: frame difference?
Eric, the 72 uses a one piece drive shaft. I don't see any reason why you couldn't move the support cross member from the 67 over to the 72 and use the two piece. However, that may give you more pinion angle issues if you put lift on it.

Re: frame difference?
I think I will move the crossmember for now. Livrat said he might have a one piece drivshaft when I get to that stage. I will also need to be moving perches when I change to a 14 bolt. So I will be addressing pinion angle then and again if and when I add a lift kit / shackle flip.
Is there a visual difference between 1/2 and 3/4 spings (leaf count, thickness)? Thank you everyone.
