Turn signal question

I have been working on getting my 72 blazer up and running after being off the road for about 10 years and now its time to tackle the wiring. I swapped the idiot light cluster for a guage cluster and everything seems to work fine except the front marker lights in the fender blink with the turn signals in the front bumper. I did notice the lamps share power and ground but I dont remember this ever being normal. This occurs with the headlights on and off. The rear marker seem to function properly burning solid and not blinking. All exterior bulbs are new and correct. Thanks in advance for any help, Ben.

1972- Yes they blink but they blink opposite to the bumper lights (at least they do on mine); when the bumper light is on the side light is off and vice versa.

Thanks for the help Skidder. Are the rear marker lights supposed to blink too? I guess i just dont remember the marker lights ever blinking.

My rear side markers don't blink, but on my Jimmy, the front side markers blink like yours, not skidder111.

Can someone please post a pic on how you have the side marker lights wired. I have a 68 and I only have a lens cover, but with no light. I bought the side marker light sockets, but need to know how to wire them. I would like them to come on when I turn my lights on, and blink when the blinkers are on.
