Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

I know a lot of guys have been waiting patiently (and impatiently) for me to get these dialed in! Here they are, along with the special we will be running until the end of the year!

Porterbuilt Street Rods 67-72 Hood Hinge Relocation Kit
End of the Year Special:
$200 Shipped inside the Continental United States (all others $199 plus shipping)
Price will INCREASE Jan. 1, 2010

Porterbuilt Stree Rods has developed a clean, simple, effective, and AFFORDABLE hood hinge relocation system for the 67-72 C10, C20, and C30 series trucks. This hinge system is ideal for extremely lowered applications, where the factory hinges were no longer compatible. This hood hinge system utilizes a bolt-in, cowl-mounted hinge and pocket system. The hood mounting portion provides a weld-on mounting pad that is welded to the underhood’s support frame, and then bolt’s to the hinges pivot arm with adjustability for hood alignment. This is a clean and simple system that can be easily installed, and allows adequate hood to cowl panel clearances when opened.

Re: Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

I know someone who needs these, I already sent them an email.

I'll be the first to ask if they would work on a 73-87.

I will be finding out here pretty quickly. I will also be testing them out on the 60-66 trucks.

The current price is an introductory special, to get the new product out there. After the first of the year the price will go up.

Re: Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

Is there some sort of hydraulic strut that will hold the hood up or something else?

There will be a gas charged strut option coming soon! For now it's just the hinges.

Nate, Looks sweet! Will they come with the weld on base plate that provides the hood anchor points?

Mike-

The plate that gets welded to the under-hood support brace is included in the kit. The kit also includes stainledd button-head fasteners.

Re: Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

Okay I want these but how does the hood stay open w/o the springs?

Is that what you guys are talking about the gas strut option?

You're correct, the springs on the factory hinges are what hold the hood up. These are hinges only... so a prop rod would be needed.

The gas strut kit will be an option to work with my hinges, and thus hold the hood up without a prop rod.

Re: Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

Update:

I have all the hinge kits boxed up and ready to go... just waiting on the machined spacers for the hinge arm. I was supposed to have them by last Friday (the day I had planned to ship 10 kits), but they were delayed. According to the USPS tracking I should see them today. I will let everybody know when the kits leave!
