Re: New CPP Motor Perches
Clyde,
What headers gave you clearance issues with these perches? Thanks |

Re: New CPP Motor Perches
I didnt like how these put the motor more forward, they would have worked fine moving it forward if I would have used a pusher fan or the stock 5.3 fan. I went with a dual puller fan which needed three and one half inches clearance to install. THey would have worked I guess with headers, but when I tried the stock manifolds, they didnt work, then the whole fan clearance did them in for my needs.

Re: New CPP Motor Perches
i just have a question. not getting in line right now. Why is it that you can't use them ? Is it a header or clearance issue?

Re: New CPP Motor Perches
Yes these are still available, I would like $100.00 plus shipping
THese would not work cuz of the headers I wanted to use and the fact that I had to clearance the top of my frame so the OTHER perches I bought would fit. THere is nothing wrong with these dudes, I just didnt like the way they set the motor further up so things would line up the way I planned. Clyde65

Re: New CPP Motor Perches
My truck is a 65 C-10. I bought CPP's tubular engine perches and having a heck of a time finding shorty headers that will fit. I've tried Flowtech 31504FLT, Hooker 2466-1HKR and a set of used (name unknown) long tubes.
Hookers. The tube is hitting the frame, but even if it cleared it would be on top of the perch. Long tubes brand unknown This is the Flowtech. They clear the perches, but are way into the frame. Clearancing didn't even work. The rt side fit good the drivers side wasn't even close. Has any body found shorty headers or any headers that will work with this setup? Any advice would be helpful. I wrote CPPJeff to see if he has a solution. I'm almost to the point of modifying the flowtechs to work and have them recoated, but that is still expensive. I've even thought about going back to the factory perches.
