Tail Lights won't Turn Off
My rear, red brake lights won't turn off. I checked all up under the brake pedal to see if the switch was stuck, but I either don't know where it is or I just can't get to it. I followed the brake pedal in there DEEP with a flashlight, but never could figure out where the switch would be.
Do you have and ideas on how to stop this? Right now, I'm just pulling the fuse so that it doesn't drain the battery when I'm parked. |

Re: Tail Lights won't Turn Off
the brake light switch should be a plastic kind of plunger switch near the top of the brake pedal. you should be able to see it real easy from the floor looking up if you lay on the floor

Re: Tail Lights won't Turn Off
Once you find it, the fix may be as easy as just readjusting the switch.
If it's the plunger type you may be able to slip the switch (housing) forward/aft in it's mounting to get the correct adjustment. k

Re: Tail Lights won't Turn Off
Brake lamp switch adjustment is simple once you find the switch. Push the brake pedal down by hand then simply push the brake light switch forward towards the firewall (it will make a scraping noise as it moves) then release the brake pedal and pull it up towards the seat. It will make that noise again, now it's adjusted properly. jim
