Seat fix - End Spring

Can the end spring on a full foam seat be taken out & a new one put in without taking the seat cover & foam off? I'm more than willing to take it out of the truck to make it easier but don't really want to take the cover & foam off the frame. Just looking for any advice since my driver side is broke & the listing is getting to my back.

I don't think so. I have fixed two of them and I can't imagine trying it with the cover on. You might be able to just loosen the corner of the cover and pull the cover and foam back far enough to get the job done, I don't know. I need to re-do the driver side springs on the '67 seat. I might just try that.
