1967, SM465, 350 Clutch Linkage
Putting my clutch back together and am wondering if i am missing some parts. Included some photo's to assist. The left side of the photos is the part that bolts to the engine block.
Is there suppose to be a part that fits in the groove, possibly an o-ring? I know that i need a clutch bellcrank stud retainer washer. Is there anything else that i might be missing? Need to place an order and would like to make sure i have everything covered. Thanks for any help. |

I used to work one a lot of step vans with that same setup. It looks to me like it is all there. There is no o-ring around that ball. It's just a grease retainer. Originally there was a felt seal around one end but it was usually gone after the first year.

Youll need a spring to hook from the clutch to the frame that keeps the linkage in the clutch , had to do that to mine. Lost my clutch because the spring wasnt there. lol

When you get it installed, make sure that you completely fill the z-bar pivot housing with grease otherwise it will rattle and drive you nuts.

Aggie makes a good point. If there is no spring from the clutch fork back, The rod can fall out of the fork & you lose the wedge. The later models had treads on the end of the rod with a nut so it couldn't fall out.

crap, lost my clutch today. Because the pivot ball thing that screws into the side of the block upon which the bellcrank pivots, apparently sheared off at the block. Son of a BBBBB, how the heck am I gonna get the stub out ?

drill a hole in the middle of the stud and use a easy out drill bit and back out the stud.
