Mirrors?
I want to run small(ish) mirrors on the top of the doors on my 63. I currently have the clamp on style and don't like them primarily because they eat into the paint. I'm looking for some good quality ones that mount flush and require that you drill through the top of the door for mounting. I want chrome or polished stainless, but everything I have seen is minimum $165.00 plus shipping a set. I'm cheep, but I want to look good. Any suggestions?

Re: Mirrors?
You might want to look at these:
https://hotrodcorner.com/index.php?l...h=00&pn=GT210L Not sure if they would work or not. You might also want to do a search on motorcycle mirrors, there are a ton of styles that might be adapted rather easily. These are just a couple of examples: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GENUI...Q5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-S...Q5fAccessories |

Re: Mirrors?
Thanks Markeb01, but I think the mounting seface will be too big and I'm afraid the mounting surface will be too big and I'm looking for a smoother transition from the arm to the mirror. Still open to suggestions guys?

Re: Mirrors?
I have these on my Model A. They are gorgeous.
http://store.bobdrake.com/unswannecmir10.html These have a tear drop "aero" looking base. Head is removable so you can flip the arm upsided down and then reinstall the head. Last edited by lakeroadster; 11-26-2009 at 09:25 AM. |

Re: Mirrors?
I used Corvette mirrors from 63-66(?). Don't remember the exact year. These were also listed as correct for 66-70 Suburbans and Chevy vans of the era. Bought one of them NOS for about $60, and a repop at Dave's(?) Corvette for about $35. The repop is good quality. They're much less intrusive, the view is fine, and they're period correct. Make sure you use the backing plate. http://s66.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Old64Suburban/
