If you're looking for a decoder for your '70, it's not going to tell you what you want.
The VINs for '67-'72s have limited information. Things like, 2 or 4 wheel drive, year, I6, V6, V8 (no displacement), body style, weight rating (1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton), and factory where it was manufactured. Post your vin here (or the first 7 digits) and we can tell you all that.

You can find out what kind of truck you have via the vin.. but not much about what options it came with at this site and others.

you need to look on the left or right of the differintial on the axle tube you will find a 3 letter code with some number they will tell you the ratio example TAA is a 4:10 but there are several others that are also 410's My source is chevy truck ID numbers 1946-1972
