gas tanks for under bed relocation
I know the common gas tank to use is the blazer gas tank but I'm curious if anyone has used something different. If so what did you use & were you able to use the new tanks sending unit. I've found a few different tanks for as low as $50.00.

Re: gas tanks for under bed relocation
I have read about jeep wrangler tanks being used, but they are small.

Re: gas tanks for under bed relocation
I used a gas tank from a 1988 Suburban and it fit between the frame rails without too much effort. I realize this is probably the same as the aforementioned blazer tank. But it would be another option if you went shopping at the local junk yard.
If getting the fuel tank out of your cab is your main priority there are companies that make fuel cells that look like tool boxes and bolt down in the bed just behind the cab. |

Re: gas tanks for under bed relocation
Oh and my tank cost $35 bucks. Which included a functioning sending unit and about 10 gallons of gas. This was back when gas was almost $4 gallon so I actually MADE money by buying the tank.
Were my friends impressed? Yes. Was my wife impressed? No. |

Re: gas tanks for under bed relocation
I know someone on here was using an Isuzu Trooper tank which is interesting as I have an old trooper sat in my back garden that I need to break that happens to have an almost new fuel tank in it. Not sure if the sender would work or not though.
