rear end and driveshaft question
I recently swapped my 12 bolt rear end out for a dana 60. I'm going to be putting the driveshaft back in soon, but before i do, I want to make sure it will fit. Do i need to have it shortened because of the different rearend, and by how much? or is it the same driveshaft length for the 12 bolt and dana 60?
Thanks, Dave

Measure three times & cut once! Be careful of different ujoint/yoke sizes from one to the other. You are probably going to have to build a custom driveshaft or find the correct one that comes out of a 3/4T PU with the same trans as yours. Be sure and get the center bearing mount, it will also be different.

If you measure from the center of the axle to the center of the yolk it would give you a pretty good idea on the difference between the two. As mentioned though you might have to change the yolk to match your universal and/or get a conversion universal joint. Maybe everything will just fit. When I swapped mine out I didn't have to do anything.
