c10 short bed build

figured i'd start my build page since its going to be an ongoing project.
its a 71 scsb c10 that has virtually no rust..its pretty clean.needed a tune up.had new interior.and a built up 350.barely ran when i got it and there were no brakes
as you can see it was pretty disgustingly dirty wen i picked her up

Re: c10 short bed build

then i decided to spend some cash on it.new brake lines, new brake pads and all new bushings for the calipers and spacers/etc.new bleeder valves.msd hei cap and rotor.msd 8.5mm wires.royal purple oil.fram filter.ac delco plugs.new belts.new harmonic balencer since the orginal one didnt have a bolt thru it so it flew off.i get the parts in the mail tonight so they will be going on this weekend.also took off the wheels and polished them up inside and out.also plated in the notch since the po had just torched out a notch now bare with me with the pictures.my comp has a virus so now im unable to upload pictures to pb so i will get that fixed asap and show you guys the updates.also last night i polished up my motor compartment and cleaned up the pans on the trans and motor and undercariage of the truck.also the grill and grille shell and light housings all went gloss black to match the truck paint.the bumper still is chrome but im debating doing that black as well.what are your guy's opinions on the bumper? leave it chrome or go black to match the grille set now?

well this is an actual plug and play hid headlight conversions kit. i then ordered an h4 hella conversion kit which instead of sealed beam it changes it to having a replaceable bulb and also better light output.and then my hid kit plugs right into where the oem hella bulb went and i connect the ballast to the stock 3 prong oem plug on the truck.they use less wattage than a halogen and also produce more light output and longer life

Re: c10 short bed build

heres of the notch that was made from the first owner.this is it all sanded down and everything.i forgot to take pictures of the jagged torch marks and also the crack all the way up the frame.

and it plated in.now mind you this is only temporary as im either doing a full frame or backhalfing it.so for the time being this is more than enough strength since i dont haul anything

Re: c10 short bed build

also took the plugs out and they're the blackest plugs ive seen in my life.threw the new ones in.threw in the new brake lines and also bled my system and it actually stops now which is nice.still havnt done the msd wires and jegs sent me the wrong cap and rotor so i have to wait to send it back and then get another one so progress is slow right now.also im going to have to order myself a new starter as this one is going.thats it for now

Re: c10 short bed build

thanks guys.and sinisterspeed, im just not a huge fan of chrome is why.the grille was majorly pitted and dented on one corner as well so the black looks way way better.and i just polished out the chrome a bit so it works for now.ill eventually do an older bumper with no lights and smoothed but i wont do that till i get rid of the mirrors, emblems, etc.

Re: c10 short bed build

man that notch looked hacked. Looked a lot better then my truck thought before I bought it. My buddy welded c-channel in it and it didn't work at all. cracked up the frame and half way across the top on both sides.

Your truck looks good thought. Cant wait to see your frame you build.

Re: c10 short bed build

Im sorry you said in the title, Short Bed Build. I guess my problem with that title is, it looks like the work has been done already. LOL
I can only speak for me but if my truck looked as ggod as yours, I'd be 3/4's done. LOL

BTW, I work on pc's if you can go to www.download.com and download,
Ad-Aware anti virus and Malwarebytes. Both are free and work great on stubbron viruses. Install Malwarebytes first, then run it complete. Then install Ad-aware, then run that after Malware. Should help, if not send me a message.

Re: c10 short bed build

havnt been on here in forever.the c10 pretty much still sits as it is.i pulled off the suspension and "trimmed" it a little.got it down in the grass a little more.also sold the 22s. i pulled apart my sandrail for new paint and accessories but thats almost together again and then the c10 will be comin in to get cut up.also if you can see i put 05 chevy leather seats inside.once bagged ill work on the custom center console.im putting three 10" competition subs in the center so should sound decent
