I have a Q that relates to this thread: there is a place where it appears you can attach the top portion of the shoulder belts to the cab-what was the purpose of that (large) bolt hole? I can't imagine that it was for a three point harness, but don't know what else it may have served.

actually, it was there for a 3 point harness... There weren't many trucks that had them from the factory, but they're out there.

A good place to buy new seatbelts in whatever color you want in a super nice set up is Juliano's Rod parts. They're famous among street-rodders for their seatbelt setups. Right now, I'm running a 3-point set from a 86 s-10, but they're getting ragged, so we're going to get the juliano's belts.

i like the idea of having a 3 point seat belt so i'm ditching my stockers. i'm adding a 99-up chevy truck seat too. the irony of it is the 99-up seats have the complete seat belt in them. my wifes uncl owns a salvage yard and said he sells them for $300 all day long! i think it will be better looking, more comfortable, and definantly an easier seat belt conversion.

I bought shoulder belts for 35 appiece from truckandrv.com. They matched right up with the recievers built into the suburban seat I was using.

You may also want to try andover (I can't remember the web site). They make all sorts of cool belts, including ones with flip up chrome levers, etc.

Help me out here... where do you fasten the top end of the belt on the cab side? I too have a newer burb seat which isn't yet install, but would like to run the 3 pt belts to match up with this seat. I was afraid I'd have to use carriage bolts and fender washers on the outside of the cab to secure them!

I have a 72 K series also-the bolt hole for the upper part of the harness is right where it would be in most autos. when I got my truck, there were 'mounting' brackets for a speacker screwed in on top of them (w/o the speakers), see if they are there.

were these holes there from ALL of the truck factories? how about all of the years?

Thanks! I'll look.... I guess I figured they just never had accomodation for them since I thought all of our trucks just had lap belts...

Dutch, the hole should be there to bolt them in. It is a 7/16 fine thread . I would use at least a grade 5. I put a nylon fender washer under mine so it wouldn't scratch the cab. my cab had a plastic plug in them.

Umm. I think I have original 3 point harnesses in my '67. Did they put them in 67's? The belts and that little crap plastic thing is light blue as is the rest of the truck. I'm assuming that they are original. My truck isn't a high option truck I know, but was this an option or something just thrown in there? (my truck is also a big window).

I think this pic has the belts in it. I know it's dirty. But that's 10 years of crap. And it was too d@mn cold to clean it out.
