Price doesn't seem that bad in my opinion if the interior looks as clean as the outside.
I've looked at quite a few around here for $10,000 that wouldn't even drive home. Buying something rust free goes a long way and saves a ton of coin. As most of you have found out judging by all the build threads I'm reading here
This one being from Austin, Texas there is a good chance it's pretty solid.

I agree with Firebirdjones on this one, by the time you're done with rusted sheet metal, new interior, new paint, lift, engine & tranny work, etc... you easily have $10-15k into our Blazers and thats not counting your labor. Heck even damn tires are expensive today! I'm all for bringing back a Blazer but the lesson is buy one that needs as little sheet metal work as possible, and do other mechanical things to it if needed, time is precious.

There is something to be said for buying something already done. You can enjoy it now. However some of us take great pride in transforming junk into a jewel. My whole intention since starting mine was to build it my way. And I will have the benefit of knowing 100% what lies beneath. For some of us it's about

"BUILT NOT BOUGHT"

You can spend boocko bucks for something nice and find out later that the rust is coming through that nice paint job or your motor is junk.

True,,,,I'm all for building and restoring, I have a few cars I've done frame off's on. Anymore though I tend to prefer to start with a rust free example. Mine was a complete running rust free (all original body panels) blazer when I bought it,,,but that didn't mean I wouldn't tear it apart. I've already been through most of it, which is typical for me whenever I buy something. So technically speaking I know 100% of what lies beneath as well.
If you know what to look for you can be certain what you are getting.

I passed on a $10,000 blazer that I couldn't even drive home, not for that reason,,,but because I could tell someone put rockers on it, and the job wasn't that great. Overall the rest of the truck was decent.
This may not shy most people away, but it made me wonder what other rust needed repaired so I passed. I wouldn't have cared if it was a bare shell for that price, as long as it was rust free and I had a solid starting point

Although this particular truck forsale appears to be mostly complete, everyone has their own standards, I'm sure we could all find something to fix or change on this one and make it that much better

I'm with you. If I wan't to buy something perfect that someone else built I will just go down and buy a new vehicle from GM. The fun is in the parts hunting, bringing back from the dead, and the choices that you get to make when you are building it just the way you want!

Exactly. People often realize this more often than they care to admit. It's easy to say the price on a finished vehicle forsale is way too much money, when in reality those people have a build going on that cost twice as much. Those that build them realize this, and most also realize it's nearly impossible to get the money back out of it as resale time. Which make these finished products look that much better to a potential buyer. And who is to say this blazer forsale is finished anyway,,,,I'm willing to bet there are alot of things that could need attention to make it 100%. Also as most know, there are alot of blazer parts that aren't reproduced, so there is some benefit to finding a complete example.

There is much more to it than just buying something to jump in and drive though, and it definately doesn't relate to purchasing a new vehicle in my eyes.

With this older stuff you have character and style that just can't be matched with a new car. Whether you buy it finished or not, you are jumping into something that isn't made anymore, and hasn't been for many years. To me there is just no comparison. With new vehicles you also have the crazy taxes and insurance, expensive license plates (in AZ), expensive upkeep, most of which has to be done by a dealer. They need disgnostic software when codes are thrown, and overall are a pain in the rump to work on. Parts cost thousands of dollars. So owning an older vehicle to drive has many advantages for us....Not to mention we don't look like all the other zombies on the road,,,lol.

Sorry for rambling, I'm just kinda on both sides of the fence with this one.

I guess I don't look at it from a money/investment point of view. I don't care about the money. Also, I don't buy cars with the intention of reselling them. I buy what I want because I want it. I guess this is just my creative outlet. Buy a hunk of junk, find the parts, build it like I want, and drive it. I'm by no means a certified auto restorationist (however that would be a COOL title to have on a business card!) or anything, but I have done my share of fixing, rebuilding, beautifing, and customizing over the years.

But we are getting off topic. Long story short, this is a nice vehicle that someone with $13,500 that wants a blue Jimmy with TBI and a 4 inch lift, should buy!

I'd sure buy that for my driver rather than some brand new 25-35K new one
and still be resurrecting a rough old Jimmy or Blazer in the shop too!
