What year?

Hi,
I'm mostly on the 67-72 board and I'm not an expert on the 73-87 trucks. I wonder if anyone here could say what year this wrecker is. It looks like an 80 in the front to me but the seller says it's an 86. I haven't seen it in person yet, just the pics. I'm considering going look at it but it is 6-7 hours away.
Thanks.

Re: What year?

If the cluster is original, then it could be 86-88

Re: What year?

The engine has been replaced. It should not be blue for a late 80s truck.
Ask for the VIN.

Re: What year?

I said "Could have been"

I know they were available, I didn't know they were standard on c/k 30

The motor must be from a early 80's, late 70's Van with the blue block as mentioned.
( the reason I say van, look at the oil & tranny dip stick and air cleaner )

"80SPORT" Your Primary color and Secondary Color on your truck is the same as mine.

What color is the primary? I was told crimson red, but I wanted to be sure. (dark Carmine secondary )

Re: What year?

thats late eighties the dash and the nose are the givewawy UNLESS it was rebuilt and restored by a late eighties model fan and then the vin would have to tell the truth or it was stolen and re tagged by a thief who used an 1980 tag and noone else picked up on it, but you would think sme official would have checked the chassis number

Thank you everyone for your replys.
I was also thinking previous diesel when I saw the hydroboost but now I learned that all 30's came with it.
Thanks

Nice Wreaker
people here both in sweden, norway, denmark and many other european/skandinavian changes the front end out for a newer model most of the time to the 89-91
the guy i bought my cab of had a 74 crew cab dually but it had complete 89-91 front end, powerdoors and dash

A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.
