Question 4WD Conversion

Has anyone done a 4x4 conversion on their 2WD square body and if so what is entailed? Are there any tutorials on this? Would a Suburban frame work on a full bed pickup?

Re: 4WD Conversion

a frame swap is in order. I would just look for a the correct frame, if you have a lwb truck, just look for a lwb frame or a complete truck, and then swap your body. Its best to stay in your year range, if your truck is a 73-80, get a 83-80 frame and the same for 81-87.

I am doing a 2wd to 4wd frame swap in here:

Re: 4WD Conversion

the REAL problem is that the crossmembers need to be changed and since the 2wd frame is different than the 4wd frame you just cant swap crossmembers i think. This is whats stopping me from doing the swap. to my 1 ton.
