Re: power windows in a 70?
I just installed a kit from A1 Electric. It replaces the factory regulator assembly, bolts into the factory holes and requires "minimal" experience to accomplish. You will have to install conduit into the doors for the wiring (that was probably the most difficult part of the job). Pretty straightforward, Italian motors, good quality all-in-all and "reasonably" priced. The kit sells for $250 then you will need some switches, etc to get it running. Here is a link to their website.

Re: power windows in a 70?
I used the kit from A1 Electric. pretty much a bolt in. you just have to figure out swithes and wiring, but you won't be disappointed with the ease of the kit itself... I used mine with the Brothers one peice window kit, no problems...

I too have the A1 Kit. It’s the best option I ever put in my truck. I bought their switches and wiring kit and it all fit perfect

Re: power windows in a 70?
I've had the ones from A1 on my 70 for several years now. They work great. It seems I paid a lot more then the price now though. The left side I don't care about. It's the right side I like. You don't have to get bent out of shape to roll it down.

Re: power windows in a 70?
i wish i could afford those a1 kits, but 250 is 250 more than i paid for the whole truck! lol i was more or less asking if anyone has used the "universal" kits on their truck. theyre inexpensive, and just install on the manual window regulators. thanks

Re: power windows in a 70?
The A-1 kits all say C series but it will still work on K-series right? There isn't any difference in the doors as far as I know. lol. but I'm a newbie.

Re: power windows in a 70?
I've got some on mine, not sure what brand, they were on the doors when I bought them. Just make sure your windows slide good. The ones i have use a rubber belt between the motor and regulator, so if the window binds or is stiff, I can see the belt breaking.

Re: power windows in a 70?
I used the kit from Electric-Life (made by A1). Its a nice OEM type unit using gear drive mounted on the regulstor.
I'm using the 70s OEM type switches for a factory look which I also ordered from Electric-Life. For the hinge connector at the door I used the black rubber ones from a Ford Van with barn doors. These look like they would have come from the factory and function very well. I picked them up on ebay for under $5 shipped and they were new. Just remember ya get what you pay for with electric window kits. My window regulators were shot so it wasent that much more to convert to power windows. (at least that what I told myself) Denny |

Re: power windows in a 70?
guys i am looking at the A1 since that seems to be the best bet on here.
I have the brothers 1 piece conversion and it is a bit sloppy as i think they are. If i am above 55 mph or so the pull out and i have to slow down to get them to rollup, will this help that any? I am a bit concerned or is there something else that can be done to help tighten these up. One of my regulators just went out so i need to do something. Is the kit at Brothers the same? Thanks Dave

Re: power windows in a 70?
What about a Suburban?
I bought a one piece window kit from Brothers I was going to use on my truck. But since I sold it thought I would use it on my 'Burb. Can I just buy one from like A1? And get an additional switch?
