Exclamation I need a rear axle hub measurement!!

I need the following measurement for the rear axle hub (see picture). The measurement should be at the wheel mounting surface. Mine measures 3.09" (71/72). I need these for 71/72 hubs and 73-87 hubs. Please post both if you have them. I need as many responses to this as I can get to determine the variances, so please don't stop replying.

Thanks in advance.

Rob, I'll get you some numbers for the 71-72 by this afternoon & can cross check against my 74 once I get home this evening. I'll post up the info asap.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: I need a rear axle hub measurement!!

I got 3.06" on mine (both). The 74's hubs are OE/stock; the hubs on the 68 housing are Moser axles if that makes a difference to you. I was going to measure the 71/72 rear end but remembered it also has Moser axles.

Hope this helps.... Let me know if you need anything else.

Are you measuring at the base or at the outer most part?

Re: I need a rear axle hub measurement!!

I measured at the outermost part. There's a little bump in diameter right at the base. Did you want the thicker measurement?

Re: I need a rear axle hub measurement!!

Crap...i didn't...excuse my ignorance, but what would be the best way to measure at the base??...Was thinking about wrapping a string around it then calculating it out using the circumference equation...I know...I'm such a dorky engineer!!!
