SF Bay Area, a little help needed

Hi,

I am looking for a couple volunteers in the SF Bay area... see if any of my virtual friends can appear in person and help me out on my project.

Several months ago, I got my 72 Suburban back from the paint booth.... I posted this thread:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=370799

2 days later, I was in the hospital having emergency open heart surgery :-)

I had an aortic aneurysm (think soft bulgy spot in a radiator hose about to burst, only much, much, worse... )

So I cheated death - I'm all ok now, back at work. But I've still got some physical limitations, and needless to say my project has stalled.

If I could get a couple volunteers to show up and help me do a few things:

- take off the hood, fenders and grill (without scratching them) and store them in my extra bedroom.
- install my liftgate
- remove the seat
- maybe help install the rear side glass
- push it back into the garage

then I could proceed with some of the next steps (paint/detail the firewall, do some interior work, re-wire the truck...) and maybe get this burb on the road sooner rather than later.

I live in Milpitas, near the 680, 880 and 237. A Saturday or Sunday is best (maybe next weekend?) but my work is a little flexible we could maybe do another day.

I'd be happy to pay with pizza, beer or maybe let you pick something from my "extra parts" box.

PM me if this sounds fun

Re: SF Bay Area, a little help needed

Steve,

I work right near there (1st and Tasman) and would be willing to help out anytime. Most days I am off at 4:30.

I am pretty certain that I am out of town next weekend, will let you know. Im sure I can get a buddy to come along some times too.

We'll work it out, no worries!

Re: SF Bay Area, a little help needed

Feel for you---I used to live in Fremont, then up North in Marin County, while I was in the Navy. We would drive the San Mateo Bridge daily to get to Hunter's Point Shipyard. Do you know that the flourescent lights on the S M bridge look like one long light at 140+ MPH. That is with every other one turned off like they always have them. I am slightly "Out of the State" now, so good luck.
