Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
Ok, first off, i need this like I need another....... But since i am bored, I have a chance to buy a couple trucks, the orange one has a 350, th350 rebuilt, and a decent ride, they want btn $1000 and $1500 for it. The baby blue one is a 6 cyl 3 speed and they want about 800. These are seculded and no one knows about them. My thoughts were,
A: I need a Truck, no longer have one for working. B: Would be cool C: Use my drop springs from HAVOC, convert to 5 lug with a spare suspension i Have, Z the front frame, C-notch the rear. Raise the bed floor, steelies with wide whites (cheap) redo the interior, put a 98 Vortec 5.7 with the 4l60e and wiring i have from a truck in it and drive it. Slight tint on the windows, leave the paint this way or....... Not much money or work truck, but a cool shop truck for me. Opinions

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
James I would buy both of them make one good out of both then sell the rest of the parts and end up with a "FREE" truck....
I like the ideas that you put down as far as mods...

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
True, I been debating whether or not to buy all three, sell the 58 for 2000, it is nice shape, Fix one of the others, get the other one running and sell it for 2000 also. end up ahead. I am really condsidering it also. But the Wife would kill me, Heck, Al, yesterday i had a meeting with a guy, he owns a very reputable muffler shop in town here , and as of this fall i will be doing his 67 chevelle for him, full resto, so my time is cut down to not much, but if i could hide them from her at a friends acreage, i would be ok, but if she finds out, She is already saying i have too much on my plate, i have 5 restos to finish this year alone. At home none the less

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
A work truck??
I'd the orange one, go thru all the fluids, brakes, & other systems to make sure it is reliable. Then, I'd throw a seat cover on it an go to work with it, leaving it pretty much "as-is". If I had the $, I'd grab that '58.....neat 'ole truck. Your pic's....kinda balmy out there in SK for FEB eh??? Odd, I'm just North of Brandon in MB right now & it's a little cooler here.......:>o |

I agree with Big Al.
You must be a subscribing member to make "want to buy" requests...

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
Neat trucks...
Sounds like you do have alot on your plate already and the wife looking over your shoulder. Make it easy on your self. You say you need a work truck, then buy the running orange one and walk away from the others.....although they look OK from 25' they are sitting nearly up to the axle. No tellling how much rust is in them... |

That 67 GMC is very cool. You just don't see many of those. I would go that route for sure.

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
The '58 is pretty cool and complete, and not many of those running around...but not as practical for a shop truck. The orange one, IMO.

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
If you've got the funds, get them all. You can easily sell them off one by one if you need to and recoupe your investment, if not make some money. I like GMC's but the orange one looks to be in better shape and dressed up a little more. I'd make it the shop truck with a logo on the side and a cool set of wheels. doesn't need much else. Great find. Good luck with them.

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
All 3 would be nicem, if you can afford it. If i had to chose i would chose the 58. I love 67-72s but that 58 looks in good shape and you just done see them that much, atleast around here.

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
I'm really not in a position here to tell anyone else they have too much going on. I have 4 piles of parts, loosely defined as vehicles right now and need to trim it down. Your plans would be a great build for any of them, but a lot of work. It would be months before it was an actual driver because you do still have projects going. If I remember correctly, you kinda put your avatar truck together before you were really ready and it still needs work yet.
I guess if it was me, and I knew the trucks were going to be there for a while yet, I wouldn't rush into it. I'd finish up some of whats on the plate already and then see what project still sticks in your mind later on.

Re: Which one would you buy, for a shop truck?
explain the logic of a "shop truck" that is seriously slammed with a raised bed floor. that wouldn't do me for a street driven truck, let alone one that is used for running errands and hauling stuff. if you can explain that to me, you may be on to unraveling the mysteries of the universe!
