Part interchangability

Real quick, can anyone tell me if there is anywhere a manual/link/list etc of what parts might fit what vehicles? For instance, there's a 65 C10 factory posi listed on my local craigslist. Will that work (without much fab...) a 67-72?

And I mean cross-species too, what about a Corvette power window regulator from a 69 into 67-72 c10?

Thanks guys!

Re: Part interchangability

IIRC, you can switch the 65 into a 67 - 70 , people also switch the 71-72 5 lug into the 60-66

IT SURE SEEMS LIKE THIS INFO WOULD BE AVAILABLE SOMEWHERE ON THIS COMPUTER. I'D LOVE TO HAVE THAT INFO AS WELL. I'VE BEEN IN JUNKYARDS LOOKING FOR A PARTICULAR PART (NOT NESSESARILY FOR THESE TRUCKS) WHERE THE COUNTER PERSON WAS CROSS REFERENCING PT#S ON THE COMPUTER TO SEE IF THE PARTS FROM ANOTHER MODEL WOULD WORK. I WAS COMPLETELY COMPUTER ILLITERATE AT THE TIME (STILL A'M MOSTLY) SO I NEVER PAID ANY ATT. IT WAS JUST SOMETHING THAT SEEMED KINDA LIKE VOODOO OR SOMTHING MAJICAL. ANYBODY?? JOHN

That's what I wanted/assumed there was out there. I mean Chevy when they ordered/made parts knew that the regulators worked for different models so they only had to make one shape part etc. So how do we get a hold of this information???

Hollander's Interchange .... it's what a lot of the salvage yards use to cross-reference & run down parts.

Worth their weight in gold, and are priced as such.

http://hollanderinterchange.net/

Or a book for 67-78 models
Chevrolet Pickup Parts Interchange Manual1967-1978 by Paul Herd
ISBN 0-7603-0680-X

I realize the book doesn't help you much but it may help others.

If you luck out and find a GM book which I found with a used lit dealer at a swap meet.It will set you back a good $40.00 ^
Chassi and Body Parts Catalog
Chevrolet 1946-72
1/2 thru 1 ton trucks
Series 10-20-30

It takes some getting used to but has lots of good info.I believe it is available on CD also but don't have a link.
