Got to put her back in storage.

Got orders to Italy today. I leave in June. So, I guess she's going back in storage. I just got her out of storage in August after 3-years. Now she'll sit for another 3. I'm shipping my wife's vehicle 09 Dodge Journey to Italy, so I'll have to store my '69 myself. Army will only store it if I do not ship a vehicle. I'm thinking of buying a 20-foot shipping container and putting it at my parent's and storing my truck in there.

Oh well, at least I got paint on it in the short time I had her back.

If the family circumstances permit, consider shipping the truck to Italy. When you arrive, get a beater for fuel economy. The Italians love American iron and you gotta run up to Germany and make it an autobahn runner.

I would honestly not put yourself through this.....Europe is rough on cars and old ones are super hard to get and keep registered, even through the USAREUR system.....let alone off base....Not worth it IMHO.....

Re: Got to put her back in storage.

If the zoning at your parent's home allows it, you might want to consider one of those temporary type garages made of pipe framing and vinyl fabric. They are a few hundred dollars and wouldn't be quite as tight as a shipping container or as expensive.
By the way, thanks much for your service and sacrifices.
