Lock question

Does any of the aftermarket companys sell a lock (pawl)? My driverside door lock is not working due to the part (pawl) on back of the lock being bent so badly it wont engage. I have seen where I can get locks but not the other part. My locks are good other than that one item. Anybody know where to find them? If I can get one I can install my door panel and handles again.
Thanks John

I am aware of the parts section as I have bought many parts there. My question was if the aftermarket companys sell this as I need one quickly. Im not even sure if I called it by its correct name . Thanks John

Re: Lock question

I think most all of the vendors sell them. I know Classic Industries has them in their catalog.

Re: Lock question

Im having more lock problems .My new driver side lock pawl came today with some other things from LMC .I removed the lock and installed the new pawl and it worked good until I closed the door and tried to lock it. It bent even worse than the original one .When I removed it for inspection I realized it was not as thick as the original one but it has to be in a bind somehow to keep bending them.I am going to find an original one if I can,but wondered if anyone had suggestions as to how to loosen up the locking mechanism ? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried any WD-40 or PB Blaster on the lock/latch mechanism? If you roll the window down you can spray it on the lock/latch through the window channel. If the door isn't closing all the way it won't lock and you will bend the pawl trying to get it locked. You might try pushing in on the door while you turn the key to lock it....

I will spray it good in the morning and let it soak good. I will be looking for a replacement pawl in the meantime .I may know where I can buy a junk door for parts .Thanks for the help as always.
