heater hose location with Old Air A/C

I am installing an Old Air Products 7200 Hurricane A/C & heater in my 72 GMC. The question I have is that in the instructions it says to run the heater hoses from the water pump and intake manifold to the heater core, but it was originally from the water pump and radiator to the heater core. Old Air states that if you run it that way you will get no heat, which I dont understand because it had heat when it was run that way from the factory.
Thanks
John

Re: heater hose location with Old Air A/C

huh that is weird all i can suggest is plug up the hole in radiator and run it how they say to if not you might not have heat then have to do it twice which always stinks
