Re: ls motor help
Try to get eng. And trans together. Get the harness. Ecm. If eng is dbw get the gas pedal and module. If you can ask them no to cut any hoses it will save u time and money. As far as year ur choice. I got me a 2006 - I stay with the dbw easy for cruise control. Good luck

Re: ls motor help
i got an 04 motor with an 02 style intake. (02 has drive by cable) as far as cruise control, stupid simple. grab the cruise control module from the donor truck and wire it up to your factory switch. Everything works, speedo, fuel, temp, oil.. all that stuff.. like every ones saying.. plan plan and it will flow like 10w-40 in a plastic funnel

Re: ls motor help
city about 16ish... the best i ever saw with 3.42's 275/55/15's aired to 48psi all 4 corners, cruise control at 70 buzzin around 1600rpm or so going from houston to florida i averaged 20-21.. tops 21. Not bad for the aerodynamics of a brick im happy with the mileage, thrilled with the reliabilty

Re: ls motor help
if you buy the engine without trans you can use any 4l60e i used a 98 pre LS trans but i had to modify the holes on the flex plate and use a adapter for the crankshaft as people have said get the engine as complete as you can i got my with all ACC including the harness and computer also get the vin number from the truck it came from !!! you might need it i wrote it on my PCM its an easy swap !!!! dont forget things like sending units adapters make life easier to modify this stuff before you put the engine in !!!! mileage at least 20mpg around town
